Countable nouns.

Countable nouns refer to words that can be counted. One dog, two dogs, ten dogs, and so on. They can be singular and plural. They must be used with a determiner if they are singular or plural forms.

Examples:

A car, a pen, a chair, a piano, a monkey, a man, a woman.
An elephant, an egg, an orange, an apple, an ox, an hour.

We can use some words before singular nouns like

A Before singular words that begin with consonant sounds.	A cat, a boy, a car. I have a car. My friend has a cat. I saw a boy.

Lots of	I have lots of toys. They planted lots of trees. We have lots of rabbits.

Several	I met several friends at the party.
